Overview of Sillimanite Sand
Sillimanite (Al₂SiO₅) is a naturally occurring aluminosilicate mineral with high refractory properties. It is a natural mullitie giving it high stability at high tempratures making it ideal and highly valuable for the refractory and ceramic industry. IREL sillimanite is one of the best sources for alluminosilicate in the with the highest purity making it perfect for refractory bricks and refractory paint industry.

Uses of Sillimanite Sand
Refractory Industry: Sillimanite sand is used in manufacturing of high-temperature-resistant refractory bricks and castables for furnaces, kilns, and other high heat bearing structures. These bricks are made up of many different base material, but sillimanite outperforms almost every other refractory material.
Ceramics: It is used to produce high-performance ceramics for electrical and mechanical applications.
Glass Manufacturing: Sillimanite sand is used in the production of glass tanks and furnace linings.
Foundry Industry: It is used to make refractory paints used in coating mould before metal pouring.
